Revenue discrepancies

Learn why melabel revenue may not match DSP reports, common causes like reporting delays and currency conversion, and how to investigate and escalate discrepancies.

Revenue discrepancies

If the revenue shown in your melabel dashboard doesn't match what you expected or what a DSP shows in its own reporting, this page explains why discrepancies occur and how to investigate.

Why numbers may not match exactly

DSP reporting delays — melabel shows revenue as it's reported to us by DSPs. If a DSP hasn't yet reported a period, that revenue won't appear in your dashboard yet.

Currency conversion — DSPs report in local currencies. melabel converts to USD using exchange rates at the time of reporting. Small differences can occur due to rate fluctuations.

Revenue share — melabel's 10% revenue share is applied before amounts are shown in your payout balance. The streaming revenue total and your payout balance are different numbers.

Platform-level discrepancies — DSPs sometimes revise their own reports. A platform may report streams and revenue for a period, then issue a correction in a subsequent report. These corrections will appear in a later reporting period in melabel.

Catalogue updates — if your ISRC or UPC changed on a release (e.g., after a resubmission), some platforms may split the streaming history across the old and new identifiers.
