Sampling is a widely used technique in modern music, particularly prevalent in hip-hop, electronic music, and pop. It involves taking a snippet of audio—which could be anything from a drum beat, a vocal phrase, a melody, or an instrumental loop—from an existing recording and repurposing it in a new song. This can be done by directly lifting the audio, manipulating it (e.g., changing pitch or tempo), or using it as a foundational element for an entirely new composition.
